First off, I have a new book out! MAKE BELIEVE MURDER came out October 22! Yay!
Halloween has come and sadly gone. And I have to tell you, the scariest thing I experienced this year wasn’t zombies in search of brains, monsters in search of mischief or skeletons in search of…whatever skeletons want. No, It was worse than that.
We had a snow storm. That’s right. We got four inches of snow the night before. And then the temperatures plummeted. I’ve never known a snowy Halloween. And as a result, we had very few trick-or-treaters. Which is weird for our neighborhood because this area is usually packed with kids. I should’ve handed out a pound of candy per child.
So, I’m stuck with a metric ton of candy. Maybe that’s the scariest thing about Halloween – that I’ll gain twenty pounds and come down with diabetes. Some people fear Dracula or the Wolfman…I’m afraid of diabetes. Which is only a matter of time considering my unseemly amount of sugar consumption.
Oh well. At least I got the good stuff. It’ll be Snickers and Milk Duds for dinner for a while. I wonder what wine pairs with that?
Sigh.
